How does the Supreme Court shape our system of government?

The Supreme court has the awesome responsability of translating the constitution into our time frame over and over again to determine how it affects us today. As we can see through history that as the same subjects arise that what they deemed 50 years ago to be constitutional today they deem unconstitutional. As the country changes and evolves they are allowed to change the laws that govern us accordingly. I would give examples but there are just too many :)
The funny thing about the supreme court is that they tend to try all of the toughest issues that no other court will touch. Such as Womens Rights cases, where they have changed the law multiple times to accomodate women as America has become a country more based on equal rights for all people.
In my opinion the Supreme court has a huge effect on not only our government today but on all of our lives because they determine the basis for the laws in which we are governed and how they will apply to us in our life. We have seen many changes in law due to the Supreme court's decisions in our lifetime and will see many more to come. Paying attention to the cases that they try and their outcome gives us a strong guiding line in which our country believes and acts upon according to our individual rights and the freedoms that we and our children can enjoy.
The only rules for this blog are:
1) Keep it PG
2) Discuss, debate, and argue; but DON'T demean another blogger. If you do, you won't be posted.
