I am voting for Senator Mccain for a few reasons and now I will tell you. 1st I think Obama is an idiot I think if he becomes the President of the United States this country will pay in every negative way and I plan to tell everyone that votes for him I told you so if and when he makes it to the presidency. 2nd of all I read an e-mail the other day that you cant become a district manager of a company after 143 days, a General in the Military after 143 days or etc, but yet Mr (I say Mr because I have no respect for Obama) Obama claims that he is worthy to be the President of the best country in the world after 143days of "experience." I will be the first to admit that Mccain is not the best pick but for me I would rather not have someone that is pro life, an idiot, for gay rights (there is a reason why their is males and females, dont think I hate gay people because I dont, one of my best friends is gay and he knows how I feel), has absolutely no experience. Well to be honest its late and my brain is choosing not to work, I'll post this for now and i'll be back on to finish my statement. I am sure I will get a few people that will read my comments and not like it. For you that dont like it just know I am laughing because thats what a debate is all about :)
I will absolutely NOT vote for McCain and Palin. Yes, McCain has years of experience. That is all he can talk about is his experience and who he knows. But so what? if this gets us more of the same mess we've had for the past 8 years what good is his experience? I thought McCain really looked like a fool when he was undecided about debating Senator Obama last Friday night. What was the reason? Oh yes, because the country had more to think about! Excuse me? The country is in financial ruins and McCain thinks we don't need to hear how he can get us out of it?? That is because he doesn't have a viable plan. He knew he would look like an old man with old used up ideas next to Senator Obama. During the debate McCain couldn't even look at Obama. He went round and round the issues and questions but did say he would look at every governmental committee and eliminate waste. Oh ok, and how long is that going to take? You have all of this experience McCain- and that is the best plan you can come up with? I thought Senator Obama's comments on how the current administration has been so narrowly focused on the Iraq crisis that they've neglected other vital areas is something we really need to consider. Especially considering what happened today with the House voting down the financial bailout that Bush proposed. We can no longer trust these Republicans to lead our country with their 'so called experience'. Look where it's gotten us! "Like the Iraq war and the Patriot Act, this bill is fueled on fear and hinges on haste," said Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett, R-Texas. I am definitely ready for some new leadership and not the old school mentality of leadership. We need Obama and hopefully he is the next president of the United States. Otherwise I believe we will just get more of what the last 8 years has gotten us- down the tubes even further.
I have never made this comment, or made this stance in class because I wanted to know if it was truly the way I was going to vote. I have sat on the McCain side for this whole class so far, even though I do not want him. I am definitely not an Obama fan either. I have always been a Ron Paul fan. some conservatives I've talked to call him a liberal, but I see him as the most conservative candidate there is. The man wants to eliminate the very machine that controls our economy, The Federal Reserve System is a liberal? PSH.
As for McCain and Obama, I see it as a cancer or a heart attack for this country. Our country has been going down the road to socialism for a long time now, republican and democrat's have done this. McCain will lengthen the time out for socialism. With Obama, it will happen quick. I am pissed that I have to vote for either of them. Is this the best we can do america? So I am sticking with Ron Paul and his revolution for freedom. Matt said that this class will either confuse the hell out of me, or make my ideals more concrete. My ideals are more concrete, and we are heading for disaster with either candidate. But I will still sit on McCain's side because it's the "so-called" conservative side.
I will be voting for McCain. I have made my final decision. I have tried for the last month or so, to keep an open mind about both sides. (I was the one of the undecided ones in the middle of the class). But I have to go with what i think is going to be good for the country in the long run. What we don't need is a glorified public speaker. While other people are wooed by Obamas rhetoric, I am wooed more by McCains experience and history. McCain has always been the one who fights against a bigger federal government. He is a states rights, Reagan Republican and we know through the bills he has fought for in the senate that he is willing to really fight for us, Obama hasn't gotten his hands dirty because he is careful and that is a good reason we shouldn't vote for him. One of the biggest reasons people should vote for McCain is because he has fought staunchly against money corruption in politics and the government, and the economic crisis we are in today comes as a result of money corruption in the system. We need now more than ever someone who has a proven record against corruption. Obama has no track record. His resume is completely blank. We know McCain, we might not agree with everything he says but atleast we know him. We don't know Obama. There is a small chance that he could be the savior of the country which many people are banking on, but a much much greater chance that he will drag the country into socialism finessing us with his glorious public speaking all the way.
I have sat on Obama’s side in class, thinking that I will be voting for him, but the more I learn about both Obama and McCain, the more I start thinking that I am headed towards voting for McCain because of his experience, history, and good possibility of appointing a diverse cabinet. I also agree with Winslow comment about Obama and McCain.
In response to mharris’s comment, I heard that Obama was quite rude in the debate against McCain, and that McCain was polite despite the fact. I will soon find this out as I have the debate recorded, but have not yet the chance to watch it. So, yes, I believe I’m headed to voting for McCain, although I have had several thoughts of not voting for either.
I will be voting for McCain. I know...you are all real surprised to hear that.:) Honestly the more I hear him and the more I learn about him the less I like him as a person. However, as everybody has stated and not to beat a dead horse, but he has eperience and a strong history in the senate which in my mind are all good things. That being said, the real reason I will be voting for him is because I understand (much better now after last weeks guest speaker) that I am not just voting for a president but for everybody he will appoint. Deep down I have strong conservative beliefs and values and my hope is that he will appoint people with the same beliefs and values.
I will be voting for Obama, without a doubt. I think the closer we come to the elections the more I realize that he is the better choice. Sure he doesn't have as much 'experience' as McCain, and I do take that into account, but I really don't think this should be a determining factor, I mean, people like Rumsfeld and Cheney had loads of experience, that doesn't necessarily make them good people or good leaders. Also, if you look at the founders of our country, all the people we revere, they didn't have too much experience either. So I will not be voting just based on experience. I think that the country will be in safer hands with Obama. I don't trust McCain's judgement on foreign issues, and don't think he is capable of forging better relations with other countries or keeping our borders safe from more attacks, on the contrary, I am scared there will be a better chance of foreign attacks with his lack of diplomacy. I don't agree with the war in Iraq and think it would be best to start withdrawing the troops like Obama wants to do. I don't think that big businesses and the richest percentage of the population should continue getting tax breaks and I don't beleive in the 'trickle down theory'. Obama seems concerned with the common people, the middle class blue collar workers. I like the fact that he gave his time to be a community organizer and I think what he accomplished during that time is admirable. I think both McCain and Obama are good orators, but I just don't trust McCain. I think he lacks the judgment necessary to be cheif executive, despite his "experience", his lack of judgment has been shown with his vice presidential pick, his handling of the economical crisis and just recently with what he said regarding the president of Spain and his doubt as to whether they are our allies or not. That is why I think Obama is the better candidate.
I will never chose to support or vote for McCain. McCain stated that he would rather lose an election, rather than losing this war. He has every intent to continue this war and keep our troops in the middle east. I don't exactly feel that Obama is our countries ideal president, but he will save our economy and pull us out of this hole that we have been placed in by Bush. If McCain gets elected, we are in for another 8 years of this nightmare.
Im with a couple other people in this class including a lot i know outside of the class. Either candidate is a poor choice i dont want to vote for either one but since i have to i will vote for the one i dislike the least which would be mccain. I think that both of them are about equal as far as what they can do for the country i just dont like how obama is going to do it. But then again maybe we do need a democrat for president. Who knows this whole election is kind of screwed up and i think that we are at kind of a low point as far as a country of our status should be. I think it would be kind of neat to post a blog asking who the students thought was going to win and why?
